Oil Industry Abuses Water Networks

June 27, 2013

In 2010, Circle of Blue, an organization formed to provide relevant, reliable, and on the ground information about critical natural resources, released a study on the oil industry’s use of water in Kern County.  This report was released after the drought that affected many local farmers and residents and shows that the Oil Industry did not seize or diminish any use of water for extracting crude.

This information is good to have as we form arguments against fracking, because we can show that the oil industry has a complete disregard for natural resources in the valley and a complete unwillingness to mitigate for their effects on our land, water and air.
